Privacy Policy

Noor is built to respect you. It has no accounts, shows no ads, and contains no analytics or advertising trackers of any kind. We — the makers of Noor — do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal information. This policy explains exactly how the app handles data, in plain language.

The short version: Everything you do in Noor stays on your device. We have no servers that receive your data, because we don't want it. A few optional features fetch content from trusted third-party sources over the internet, and those are clearly described below.

1. Information we collect

None. Noor does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any identifier. We operate no analytics and no user-tracking of any kind. We cannot see how you use the app.

Anything you enter — such as your name for a personal greeting, your prayer or fasting tracker, and your settings — is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

2. Location

With your permission, Noor uses your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. This happens entirely on your device. Your location is not sent to us and is not stored on any server we control.

The only time your approximate location leaves the device is if you choose to use the optional “Nearby masjids” feature — see the next section. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device Settings; the app still works with a manually chosen city.

3. Optional features that use the internet

Noor's core — prayer times, Qibla, Tasbih, Du'ās and reading the Qur'an — works fully offline. A small number of opt-in features request data from third parties only when you actively use them. When your device makes any internet request, the receiving service necessarily sees your device's IP address, as with any website. Noor does not attach your identity to these requests.

These third parties have their own privacy practices, which we don't control. If you never use these features, your device makes no such requests.

4. Notifications

Prayer-time reminders and the adhan are delivered as local notifications scheduled on your device. They are not sent through any external push service and involve no data leaving your phone.

5. Your data & backups

Your tracker history, name and preferences are held in local storage on your device. Noor lets you export a backup file and restore from one. That file is created and shared only when you choose to, to a destination you pick (for example, Files or another app). We never receive it. You can also erase your personal data at any time from within the app (“Forget me”).

6. Children's privacy

Noor is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Data security

Because your information stays on your device, its security is protected by your device's own safeguards (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and encryption). We hold no copy of your data to lose.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
